Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Star Buddy, provided by Mavor Apps (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the Star Buddy iPhone app. Star Buddy is a family tool for setting goals, recording progress, earning stars, and managing rewards.
In short: we do not operate an advertising or analytics service, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use data for cross-app tracking.
Information you choose to add
Star Buddy lets a parent or guardian enter and manage information such as:
- A child’s nickname and optional profile photo.
- Goals, schedules, completion records, stars, rewards, and reward redemptions.
- Growth records, highlights, notes, and dates.
- Custom icons or images selected for use inside the app.
Please avoid entering information that is not needed to use the app.
Where information is stored
Free version. App data is stored locally on the device. We do not receive or host that data on our own servers.
Premium version. Premium users can enable synchronization through Apple iCloud and CloudKit. Synced data is stored in the user’s private iCloud account and can be made available to supported devices signed in to that Apple Account. Apple handles this information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Photos
When you add an avatar or custom image, Star Buddy uses Apple’s system photo picker. The app receives only the item you select; it does not request access to browse your full photo library. The selected image is then stored with the related Star Buddy data as described above.
Purchases
Premium is offered as an in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes payment information. Star Buddy receives only the information needed to verify and restore the Premium entitlement; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Star Buddy does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
Children’s privacy
Star Buddy is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian for family use. It does not provide independent child accounts, public profiles, social features, or behaviorally targeted advertising. Parents and guardians control the information entered about children and should use a nickname where appropriate.
Retention and deletion
Information remains in Star Buddy until you delete individual records or child profiles, or remove the app and its data. Removing the app deletes local app data from the device, subject to any device backup retained by Apple. If Premium iCloud sync has been used, synced data may remain in iCloud until it is deleted through the app or the user’s iCloud data-management controls.
Security
Star Buddy relies on Apple platform security, app sandboxing, and—when Premium sync is enabled—Apple iCloud and CloudKit protections. No storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so keep your device and Apple Account protected with current security features.
International use
If you use iCloud sync, Apple may process information in locations described in Apple’s applicable privacy terms. We do not independently transfer Star Buddy data to our own servers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Star Buddy’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
